Giving from the heart

Welcome to Moments Matter Thrift Shoppe — Bayfield’s treasure-filled store with a beautiful purpose! Powered by generous community volunteers and your wonderful donations, every item you browse, buy, or bring through our doors helps fund compassionate care at Huron Hospice. Shop joyfully, give generously, and know that every moment — and every dollar — truly matters.

How You Can Get Involved

Volunteer Program

We are a community & volunteer-based nonprofit boutique style thrift store, selling good-quality merchandise, in support of free programs and services at Huron Hospice

Monetary Donations

Hospices in Ontario only receive 50% of operational funding from the Ministry of Health, with the community raising the other half. Therefore, monetary donations are always welcome. We will offer an official tax receipt for all donations over $20.00.

Clothing and Household Item Donations

Our thrift store will be continuously looking for donations to stock the store. We appreciate your clean and good quality items that need a new home. Our Donation Centre is conveniently located behind the store and will be open during our store business hours.

What We Do

As a non-profit organization, donations of clothing and household items create benefits in the following way:

  • Provide affordable shopping for all families
  • Reduce the carbon foot print and keep items out of the landfill
  • Provide income to support all free programs at Huron Hospice

Our Story

Moments Matter Thrift Shoppe was born from a simple but powerful idea — that a community coming together can make an extraordinary difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Huron Hospice has served Huron County for nearly 30 years, providing compassionate palliative care entirely free of charge. Community fundraising is essential to keeping those doors open, and the Thrift Shoppe is our creative, sustainable answer to that need.

When we went looking for the right home, Bayfield was the natural choice — and the community’s response has been nothing short of heartwarming. Volunteers stepped forward, donations flowed in, and neighbours rallied with open arms.

We are proud to be more than just a thrift store. We are a gathering place, a community social enterprise, and a reflection of what happens when people choose to give from the heart.
